Adopt-A-Cell Program

            CCHS Solar Project  Team(Chahtas) Is a student organization with two central goals. First, the Solar Project Team is devoted to pushing the limits of solar technology by designing, building, testing, and participating with solar powered vehicles. Second, SPT exists to raise awareness of the possibilities that lie within the environmentally friendly technology. 

        CCHS Solar Team was started in 2005 with participation in the Winston-Dell Solar Car Challenge. The 2006 season proved to be a success with a second place in the nation win, Classic Division, of the Winston-Dell Solar Car Challenge.

            The time has come to build upon those achievements by creating a new solar car, Tushka Hashi III ( Sun Warrior 3), and will represent another quantum leap for  CCHS through revolutionary designs and cutting- edge technology integrated into constructing the vehicle. In July the team will race from Round Rock, TX, to West Point, New York.

            To accomplish this task, CCHS (Tushka Hashi) needs your help! The central feature of Tushka Hashi is the solar array. The array, comprised of several hundred solar cells, is the sole energy source powering the car. Costing between $20,000 to $30,000, it is the single-most expensive component of the vehicle.By adopting cells; you are making a tax deductible donation to the team and to the future. You will be helping to transform Tushka Hashi III(Sun Warrior 3) from imagination to reality!
